Bug in gnumeric 0.45 copying an empty cell with formatting

In gnumeric 0.45, if an empty cell is formatted and then copied (either
using copy/paste or selecting the cell and expanding it with the mouse)
without entering a value in it then the formatting is not copied.

For example, try the following straight after opening a new spreadsheet:

Set the background of A1 to red.
copy A1 to the clipboard.
paste into A2.
