start message: unable to open libpython.so

I've had some troubles getting gnome to work properly. I'm getting the
following message before gnumeric starts:
"unable to open module file:
/opt/gnome/lib/gnumeric/plugins/libpython.so: undefined symbol:
_Py_NoneStruct"
This is how I installed gnome on my SuSE6.2 system:
- I installed all the gnome SuSE October files (rpm)
- I received errors with the following libs (no link found with
ldconfig):
- usr/lib/libgdk.so
- usr/lib/libgtk.so
- opt/gnome/lib/libgnomeprint.so
- Every thing worked but gnumeric.
- I deinstalled gnumeric 0.38
- I downloaded the source for gnumeric 0.45
- I configured gnumeric 0.45 with prefix=/opt/gnome, than make, make
install.
- Gnumeric complained about gnome-print.
- I configured gnome-print-0.9 with prefix=/opt/gnome, than make, make
install.
- gnumeric starts now but with the message of above
further I checked the compilation of gnumeric there was a message
complaining that python1.5 couldn't be linked automatically, don't know
if it matters. The rpm version of python is 1.0.50.
Thanks Jørgen
PS: this is the second time I tried to post this in the mailing-list, I
hope I'm not doing something wrong.
