Subject: Trying gnumeric-test that came with GNOME-GNORBA-0.0.2

I am have a hard time understanding the requirements to get gnumeric-test
to work--which effectively demos perl's ability to poke at Gnumeric cells
and control the application. The errors are cryptic. (I don't "get" Corba 
though I'm learning)


What I have: 
Mandrake 6.1 (based on RH6.0) with everything installed--whatever that
means...

As to packages relating to gnome, here is what's installed:

Things I upgraded (with the upgraded version number listed):
For Perl+ORBit (not in Mandrake): CORBA-ORBit-0.2.0 / GNOME-GNORBA-0.0.2
For ORBit: ORBit-0.5.1-1mdk.i586.rpm / ORBit-devel-0.5.1-1mdk.i586.rpm
For Bonobo (not in Mandrake): bonobo-0.5-2mdk.src.rpm/ 
bonobo-devel-0.5-2mdk.i586.rpm

What I left alone (so stock Mandrake 6.1):
gnome-core and gnome-core-devel is 1.0.9
gnome-libs and gnome-libs-devel is 1.0.14

More things I upgraded:
gnumeric was 0.31, now 0.38 based on gnumeric-0.38-8.i386.rpm

Error-wise:
There were some errors, adding Bonobo was the most helpful so far...
But I'm left with a few more...

Wish List:
1. I'm confused by the non-CPAN install method. Please upload to CPAN
ASAP so idiots like me can do a "perl -MCPAN -e shell; install
CORBA::ORBit;install GNOME::GNORBA" deal. :)

2. According to the gnumeric-test script, the few functions I see listed 
in Gnumeric.idl shows it's very powerful when coupled with Perl
networking code--if it only works out of the box. I would like to see
everything work without hunting for RPMs, please bring a working
perl-scriptable Gnumeric into the next Mandrake/Redhat/Debian releases.

3. Here are the few errors I have left, the previous configuration errors
google.com help me with--but these errors below are beyond random search)

4. I would love to see a few tried and true instructions on getting perl
scripting to work with Gnumeric.. step by step..
