Disable switch window through scrolling on windows list

I am using gnome 2.26.1 on mandriva 2009.1 spring. now whenever i scroll while the cursor is on the windows list in the panel, it switches the windows as if i am pressing alt+tab... is there a way to disable this feature? cz all the time i accidentally scroll the window switches and it's not something i want. any help would be sincerely appreciated..
