I'm not aware of this does trick or not nor do I completely understand the
useage of xscreensaver either as outlined at URL above..

but.............what i've been told is to use "xhost + localhost" in profile
which used to work but at moment I'm having difficulty also........gnome 1.4
current and RH7.1..

also you have to have    option   "DPMS" in your monitor section of
Xf86config.4 I believe in /etc/X11..can't check i'm in windows right now......
