My panel does not obey me

Hi all,

I'm using the Helix Gnome package for Mandrake linux, version 1.2.1. When I
log in the panel appears somehwere in the top half of the screen and off to
the right, instead of on the bottom edge where it should be. I move it back to
where it belongs but when I log in again it's right back in the same position.
