Michael Gratton created an issue:

I just submitted an update to a ticket in GitLab, and was presented with a Google image CAPCHA to complete before it was saved.

Aside from it being offensive being made to do work for free in training Google's proprietary image recognition models, as a libre software project we wouldn't be subjecting people using GNOME's infrastructure to further exposure to the predatory practices of surveillance capitalists like Google.

Please stop using Google's CAPCHA and other services on all GNOME properties.

This became a bigger issue since we started rolling out a CI template that tries to access a protected variable/token in the GNOME group in order to push things to the Flatpak Nightly repository. I had asked about this feature [upstream](https://gitlab.com/gitlab-org/gitlab/issues/18488) a couple months ago, but it doesn't look like its planned anytime soon, and they suggest we script it instead for now. Would be nice to also have it run hourly like the ldap sync so branches stay protected. -- Reply to this email directly or view it on GitLab: https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/186 You're receiving this email because of your account on gitlab.gnome.org. ----==_mimepart_5d8ccf4d72c4a_171b3fbbebce9924233712 Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit GitLab

On behalf of @alatiera

A couple of repositories in the GNOME/ group have branches, master and stable, that are not protected on the gitlab side. This became a bigger issue since we started rolling out a CI template that tries to access a protected variable/token in the GNOME group in order to push things to the Flatpak Nightly repository.

I had asked about this feature upstream a couple months ago, but it doesn't look like its planned anytime soon, and they suggest we script it instead for now. Would be nice to also have it run hourly like the ldap sync so branches stay protected.
