docbook 4.0

If I am not mistaken, docbook 4.0 was officially released last
week. Did anyone (Dave?) try it yet - I mean the final version, not
beta? Should we switch to it, and maybe to XML?

Now that gnome-1.2 is out, we can concentrate on long-term things...
