ubiquity

I thought I read somewhere that ubiquity is a gtk-based application.  If 
that be so, maybe running ubiquity from the desktop with alt-f2 ubiquity 
<cr> might work better.  Since I have ubuntu on a hard drive finally, I 
can try this then probably quit out of it safely.
