We have noticed a problem with files that people create using gedit inside of the shared directories. The file permissions are not set according to the umask. These files wind up with 640 permissions rather than 660 as we need them to be. How do I change the cursor colour? The reason is, I much prefer to work with grey (or white) text on a black background, but when you set the background to black, the default black cursor is invisible. If there's no way to change the cursor colour, would it not make more sense to have it the same colour as the normal text? I'm using the Debian 2.4.1 version. One of the best GUI editors for X11. The multiple language support is good and the UI is simple and clean. However, there are some things I miss in it that are present in that other excellent GUI editor: NEdit. These would help make gedit not just one of the best but indeed *the* best GUI editor for X11: * rectangular cut & paste. * easy macro learning mode. * goto matching (). * lower-case/upper-case. * ability to invoke shell commands.
