Yeah, this is already covered by bug
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115633 though, but
unfortunately that one has been given little attention. Ideally, the
filename and directory name should not be at all present in the message
though, but replaced with %s, as they should not be translated at all.
It would be excellent if someone could fix this bug as soon as possible,
but please mail gnome-i18n afterwards so translators know when to
update.

My box crashed and I had some unsaved files in gedit. I know some
editors keep copies of unsaved files in some temporary location, but
I've looked around and can't find any such files nor any mention of
these types of files on the web/newsgroups. Is there any way to recover
my unsaved files?

Probably, you already have most of the required libs (you need the devel
packages too).
AFAIK, the only one that is not included in RedHat 9.0 is GtkSourceView.
You can find it on ftp.gnome.org

Yeah, this is already covered by bug
http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115633 though, but
unfortunately that one has been given little attention. Ideally, the
filename and directory name should not be at all present in the message
though, but replaced with %s, as they should not be translated at all.
It would be excellent if someone could fix this bug as soon as possible,
but please mail gnome-i18n afterwards so translators know when to
update.

Probably, you already have most of the required libs (you need the devel
packages too).
AFAIK, the only one that is not included in RedHat 9.0 is GtkSourceView.
You can find it on ftp.gnome.org

I'm pretty happy with GEdit as an editor, but what would be very nice
would be a project manager that works well with it. Nothing too fancy--
just something that presents a hierarchical list of files in a project,
allowing me to easily open up files in GEdit.
Anyone have any suggestions?
And yes, I know about Anjuta. It's awfully nice, though I'd prefer
something a little lighter.
Oh-- and Nedit is also really great. With its internal
scriptability/macros, I can do just about anything I can imagine (that
sort of functionality would be amazing to add to GEdit). In fact, the
only bad thing I have to say about it is that Motif is not the prettiest
UI in the world.....
