Sankar, Patrick - thanks for your suggestions but it still "feels" like some
half-hearted workaround. I´ll try the IMAP idea and if that doesn´t work
will probably keep using Kontact with occasionally popping up the GW
x-plattform client for things that don´t work in Kontact.
Maybe "Bonsai" and the evolving linux client will solve this and other
issues (like automatically marking every mail seen in the quick preview as
read - which can be configured in Evo, but not in the GW x-plat)...
