From mtbc at ixod.org Sat Feb 1 17:19:39 2014 From: mtbc at ixod.org (Mark Carroll) Date: Sat, 01 Feb 2014 17:19:39 +0000 Subject: [Ekiga-list] Problem making connection Message-ID: <878utuoims.fsf@ixod.org> I am still trying to have a call work. Both sites are behind NAT with the recommended ports forwarded, except that, from the caller, UDP 5060 can't be forwarded (though other ports can), so ekiga is configured to use port 5050 instead, and is compiled with Eugen's hack to not just give in when symmetric NAT is detected. At the receiver, no incoming call is ever noticed. The full log from the caller is at http://pastebin.com/6TzLuiTy and the full log from the receiver is at http://pastebin.com/b3hwQnAQ - can anyone see what might help the call to come through? -- Mark From ekiga at jelmail.com Mon Feb 3 12:12:33 2014 From: ekiga at jelmail.com (John Lane) Date: Mon, 03 Feb 2014 12:12:33 +0000 Subject: [Ekiga-list] Ekiga SIP presence Message-ID: <52EF87B1.1010809@jelmail.com> Hello, I was wondering if it is possible to get Ekiga presence (online/offline) to embed in a web page? Message-ID: Hi, I'm trying to use ekiga for a h323 test, I setup an account like this: name:1111 gatekeeper: 192.168.6.161 user: 1111 at 192.168.6.161 (I also tried with only 1111) password: and I click "enable account". With this, should ekiga start to register to gatekeeper 192.168.6.161? from my sniffer, I did not see any register(1719) packets. When I try to make a call: h323:2222 at 192.168.6.161, it sends out h225(port 1720) to 192.168.6.161, but 192.168.6.161 denied it because it does not accept call from unregistered user. Why ekiga does not register to gatekeeper? how can I force this? I'm using ekiga 3.3.2 with ubuntu 12.04. Thanks. -- Rgds, Hans Yin Web: http://sourceforge.net/projects/autotestnet/ Email: hansyin at gmail.com MSN: hansyin at hotmail.com Skype: hans_yin_vancouver -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Message-ID: <87y51cxpy6.fsf@ixod.org> Thanks to Eugen we now have calling mostly working, except that there are stability problems that seem very dependent on which codecs are chosen, especially video codec. For instance, theora often freezes and H264 lasts for maybe a minute before the call hangs up. I can even completely crash Ekiga by choosing the wrong codec, e.g., the gdb trace at http://pastebin.com/3EYDBJRQ -- seeing as that exception arises from libavcodec.so.53 I wondered if it would work to try libavcodec.so.55 instead or if that would not be compatible with opal 3.10.10. More generally, I wondered, for calling among Linux amd64 Ekiga 4.0.1 ADSL users, which settings do people find to actually given reliably stable video calling? For instance, while I find that video codec matters a lot, I am not finding that things like picture size make much difference. Some clues to find settings that not only work, but work well, would be most welcome. -- Mark From dsandras at seconix.com Sun Feb 16 11:51:18 2014 From: dsandras at seconix.com (Damien Sandras) Date: Sun, 16 Feb 2014 12:51:18 +0100 Subject: [Ekiga-list] Which call settings make calls the most stable?
