Um, what are you talking about? I seem to be able to change threading types as well as expand/collapse threads on the fly. (I'm using one of the SVN versions; I'd have to see which one.)
Finally (I guess this would be a preference) to be able to indicate that "Foo" and "Re: Foo" belong to the same thread.
