Can't send mail (balsa 2.0.8 - 2.0.9)

Solved crash on exit problem, now I found that I can't send mail
properly.
Sending a mail, I get the message box that says "Sending message..".
But after some minutes I get a message that says that the connection
timed out.
The SMTP server is the right one (I'm inside my office) but it doesn't
work. Another question is: I can setup just a single smtp server for
different identities ?
